Looking back on the semester and revisiting my early work in the term, I found that I was incredibly focused on local revision. I would spend most of my time revising sentence level errors, grammatical errors and deciding what quotes fit best with my ideas. There was not much change in the overall structure or skeleton of the paper. I found that throughout the semester my ideas started to change more in the revision process. I started to think about how I could strengthen my thesis or add a better claim to go along with what my thesis was trying to say. I found my revision to be more globally because of this. This process looked like a complete makeover for my paper; cutting out and adding concepts. Bring in new thoughts and quotes to support them. More organizing of where I wanted an argument and quotes to go along with it. There were times where I had to delete ideas because they didn’t fit with my thesis. In this case I applied new ideas that better connected with the combined articles I wanted to work with and write about. For instance, my whole supporting paragraph had to be deleted and I had to rethink it by using better support. Towards the end of the semester my revision process produced a new looking paper from my first draft.
